Sunset at Hinkley Lake

Hinkley Lake has been a special place for me since childhood. When they recently drained it, in order to improve the dam, I was bummed out. It felt great to get back there with the family and was double blessed with a fantastic, spring, sunset. I kept seeing this patch of wildflowers in the distance as I photographed along the lake, and ended up there, taking my favorite shot of the day on April 30th, 2026.
